Gutter Toppers Don’t Work, and Here’s Proof

The rooftop I was servicing today had over 100 Heavy Duty Gutter Toppers (some people also refer to them as Leaf Guards or Gutter Guards). Which may have worked for a season or two when they were originally installed about 10 years ago. I removed the ENTIRE enclosure system to find (Not to my surprise at all!) a tremendous amount of debris and shake from the shingles that was trapped underneath the gutter toppers for about 10 years. Once you waste your money on the product and the installation, you WILL NOT find someone that can properly service the gutter system, UNLESS it is JESSE from Jesse’s Clean Gutter Service. I am honestly stating this because it is true. I am the ONLY Owner Operator that does this in Rockland County, New York. I’ve had HUNDREDS of my customers pay me to REMOVE their gutter toppers completely. In my honest opinion, they are useless and a waste of money. Additionally, even if you successfully remove the debris and flush the system out, during a heavy rainstorm the water will shoot right over the gutter toppers and down the sides of your house. This completely defeats the purpose of your gutter system. Water wants to naturally flow down your rooftop into an open gutter where it then flows to the downspouts.
